The Simple Present tense is used to express habitual actions, universal truths, and permanent states. Adverbs of frequency indicate how often an action occurs and are often used with the Simple Present tense. Some of the most common adverbs of frequency are: - Always: 100% of the time. - Usually: about 90% of the time. - Often: about 80% of the time. - Frequently: about 70% of the time - Sometimes: about 60% of the time. - Occasionally: about 50% of the time. - Rarely: about 30% of the time. - Hardly: about 10% of the time. - Never: 0% of the time. These adverbs are typically placed before the main verb in a sentence. For example, "She always goes to work on time," or after the verb "to be," as in "He is usually busy."
