Kemono Pretty Cure Episode 1: The birth of the Japari Friends! Welcome, Pack and Serval

Kemono Pretty Cure starts with aone including black screen with lots of screams, including a "Hold on, Pretty Cure! Hang in there!" . After that there's the opening, after the opening, we see a vast view of the wild nature of the savanna. We are then introduced to a Serval Friend named Sabaru Yaseko (Serval has this name in this version) sleeping on the branch of a tree on a sunny day. She is awakened by a noise coming from a mysterious shadow and jumps down the tree to pursue it, taking this situation as a game. She manages to spot her 'prey' and pounces on it. The unknown person appears to be a girl who instantly panics and begs Sabaru to not eat her.

Afterward, Sabaru apologizes and presents herself, Japari Park and her territory, the Savanna Area. Sabaru's tail and animal ears shock the girl, whose lack of any such features, in turn, surprises Sabaru. The girl is then revealed not to know her identity or origin, waking up in the Savanna Area not long prior to the meeting being the earliest memory she can recall Sabaru takes the guess that the girl might come from the Sandstar that came flying out of the mountain during the previous night's Sandstar eruption. Sabaru then tries to guess what kind of "Friend" the girl is but is unsuccessful, as she lacks defining traits of any of the Friend families that Sabaru checks. She tells the girl to find the Library, an area for the Friends who search for answers to their questions, in order to find out what her identity is, and decides to accompany her for part of the journey. Sabaru then decides to call the girl 'Kaban' (Japanese for "Bag") because of the bag on her back.

As Kaban and Serval cross the Savanna Area, Serval specifies that many other Friends inhabit the area, and presents Sabana Shimauma (a Plains Zebra Friend) and Tomusa Gazu (A Thomson Gazelle friend). Sabaru plans to take Kaban to the Savanna Area's exit leading to the Jungle, beyond which is the Library.

Kaban is shown not to have great physical prowess, failing to go safely go down a steep hill and cross a river without falling into it, and has to be helped by Sabaru on multiple occasions. Kaban eventually encounters a Cellien and initially mistakenly believes it to be a Friend, Sabaru does not recognize the creature, but initially attacks it, who fortunately manages to take it down in a kinda difficult "battle" by breaking its stone with her claws thanks to its small size, and describes her attack as a "Friend skill". Since, as of this point, Kaban has had to be helped many times and seemingly lacks any ability, she starts feeling like a dead weight. Sabaru, though, consoles her, as other friends also see her very clumsy, and tells Kaban she sees her as a hard worker. Sabaru helps her get up and the duo continues their adventure to find the Savanna Area's exit.

After a while, they decide to get some rest under a tree to regain energy. Kaban asks Sabaru if there are different types of friends in each species. Sabaru answers by saying that Japari Park is inhabited by more giant cats than her. To reassure Kaban, Sabaru explains that Japari Park is an extremely peaceful place, and only that animal called Cellien was really scary (Sabaru didn't know the truth about Celliens). Sabaru then takes notice of the fact that Kaban doesn't pant and appears to be regaining energy very fast.

As they keep advancing, Sabaru teaches Kaban how to climb trees, though Kaban isn't able to climb even a small one without help. They continue and finally reach the water spot to quench their thirst. As they are there, Kaka Umakawa (a Hippo Friend), a dear friend of Sabaru who was taking a bath in that same water spot, suddenly appears, shocking Kaban. Kaka warns them that a big creature that not even she herself knows what it is, but the characteristics are the same as from Cellien, is guarding the gate of the area leading to the Jungle. After Sabaru presents Kaban to her, along with her situation and apparent fear and weakeness, Kaka advises Kaban to learn how to protect herself, as the rules of Japari Park are that you must fend for yourself, and being credulously dependent on Sabaru would be irresponsible. As they leave, Kaka gets worried and tells them to be careful of the creature at the gate as well as other unimportant things in a motherly-like series of advice. Sabaru began to worry about this creature and asked Kaban to stay alert.

Along the way, besides trying to follow the path to the library, they tried to distract themselves. Kaban and Sabaru discover a sign with a small glass box underneath it, with maps of Japari Park inside of it. Kaban takes one, to the surprise of Sabaru, who has difficulty opening the box, and they analyze it to find their position. Suddenly, Sabaru hears the scream of a helpless Friend.

Sabaru and Kaban make their way to the voice and discover the creature that Kaka talked about, who was blocking the gate and had just attacked Adouru Fune (a Aardwolf Friend). Sabaru charges straight to the Cellien but is forced to retreat after not seeing its stone, which she needs to break, and getting attacked. Kaban notices the stone on the back of the Cellien, but Sabaru isn't given a chance to attack it as it keeps facing her. Sabaru then loses hope and starts to run away, Kaban goes after her and then Kaka tries to sort it out herself, but ends up not being able to.

As Sabaru and Kaban runs, they reach the end of the Savanna Area. They share their last words before Kaban could continue the adventure alone, trying to destroy the Celliens too. Kaban courageously walks straight to the jungle without looking behind her. Nonetheless, Sabaru still follows Kaban because he is afraid of more Celliens coming, greatly surprising her, and decides to keep adventuring with her, as closer friends might do. Then the scene changes to a strange creature, feeling an energy that these girls are too determined and could be the Pretty Cure.

At dusk, Sabaru scratches a tree and accidentally makes it fall, prompting Kaban to call her name in surprise. Then, that same strange creature comes towards them, Serval calls "Boss" at first. The creature walks to Kaban and greets her in a robotic voice, and asks Kaban to stop calling him Boss, since Sabaru was the one who called it Boss. Kaban appreciates the move, unlike Sabaru who is greatly shocked with this creature. The creature then moves towards them and says that the thing is VERY SERIOUS and should not be joked about, and to explain everything is very urgent, Japari Park is threatened by creatures that come from an evil world called Celliens, which are the same ones that they found it. This makes Sabaru and Kaban nervous, so when the Cellien from the gate approaches them to attack them, magic happens: a strong glow appears from them, these are really Pretty Cure! The result makes the creature very happy, and it will become the Pretty Cure mascot. Sabaru and Kaban don't understand anything from the beginning, the creature then suddenly turns Kaban's backpack into a transformation item and gives a magical cat toy to Sabaru to transform into, the two will have to combine their items to transform, and They can only transform together, with the power of determination. These 2 are destined friends!

The episode ends with their transformation into Pretty Cure, combining your items and shouting the phrase "Pretty Cure.. PAWerful Friends!", Kaban becomes the Explorer of Peace, Cure Pack and Sabaru becomes the Feline of Fun, Cure Serval. They become more scared than they already were and after that they no longer remember anything that happened before. Two Friends, a duo also known as Fennec and Raccoon, they approach the Pretty Cure, finding them beautiful, not recognizing Kaban and Sabaru. This makes Kaban and Sabaru even more scared! Arai seems to be looking for something very important, and Fenekku, interested, decides to know what is happening.
