PREPOSITIONS OF PLACE
Just as in Portuguese we have prepositions of place, in English there are so-called prepositions of place. This grammatical class has the function of expressing location between specific objects. Because of this, they are fundamental to give meaning to sentences. Most often, prepositions of place accompany noun phrases, adverbs, or gerunds. Taking into account their function, they modify the meaning of these sentences. Therefore, it is necessary to know them and use them properly when expressing yourself.
