POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES AND POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
A Possessive Adjective in English says whom something belongs to. It's always used accompanying a noun. Exs.: My house is small and cozy; Your name is beautiful; Her mother has traveled abroad, Their style is so trendy; Our country has been ruled by a genocide, etc. A Possessive Pronoun, by its turn, also says whom something belongs to but it replaces the noun mentioned before in a sentence. So we use them without accompanying a noun. Exs.: That car is mine; That house is big, yours is small; My book is from Chad, hers is from Namibia; etc.
